What Is Seedream 5.0 Lite?
Seedream 5.0 Lite is ByteDance's unified multimodal image generation model, launched February 2026. Unlike earlier Seedream versions focused primarily on resolution and speed, 5.0 Lite emphasizes deep thinking–multi-step visual reasoning that understands physical laws, logical consistency, and complex instructions before generating.
The model includes real-time web search for time-sensitive content: weather visualization, gold price charts, current events, and trend data. It can search for the Word of the Year, Met Gala themes, or live data and produce accurate, cohesive visuals from that information.
Built-in world knowledge across technology and humanities improves accuracy for infographics, scientific posters, and specialized visualizations. Local redrawing and sequential editing maintain consistency in unedited areas while inferring user intent from simple descriptions.
