A revision round is one consolidated note translated into one changed variable against a named parent clip. "Make it more premium" is not a prompt. It is a preference that still needs a visible variable, such as light, set, space, grade, or material. Until that variable is named, there is nothing honest to render.
This page is for the person who has the email, the frame comments, or the chat thread and must decide the next generation. Stakeholder language goes in. One change, judged against a file the client already watched, comes out. Cliprise is the AI creative platform at https://www.cliprise.app where that child can be made. Use the AI video generator when the parent is text-led. Use the image-to-video AI generator when a still led the parent and should lead again. See pricing before you budget the queue. Credits pay for attempts. They do not interpret the note.
What you are translating
Client language and model language are different dialects. A founder says the open feels slow. A merchandiser says the product looks small. Brand says the color is off. Someone writes "premium" because the file misses a feeling they have not described. Pasting that pile into a prompt does not revise the clip. It asks a model to guess which complaint mattered.
Sort every line before you generate:
- A defect is something broken: a hand that does not read as a hand, a product that warps, a person who becomes someone else.
- A taste note is a preference: faster, calmer, more premium, bigger.
- A scope change adds a job the parent was not built to do: a new offer, a new place, a new person, a price that was never in the shot.
Merge duplicates, split combined sentences, mark the type, and choose one line that can become one variable. The other lines wait in writing.
What this page will not redo
Three neighboring jobs look similar and are not this one.
The AI video generation log records how a render was made. Use it after you choose the variable. Do not rebuild that notebook here. This page only decides which client sentence becomes the variable the log will store.
Agency onboarding, brand libraries, batch delivery, and account scale are a different operating system. By the time you are translating notes, the brief and the parent already exist. This page starts at the comment.
The AI ad creative testing workflow is for hypotheses about hooks, offers, and variants you intend to score. A revision is not a test cell. The client is not asking which opening wins. The client is asking you to change a file they have seen. If the note is really "try a different hook," leave this page and plan a test. If the note is "the hand breaks at the reach," stay here.
How a round is sold belongs on the AI fashion video pricing rate card, including when the clip is not fashion. That page can treat a commercial round as one consolidated list after a review. This page is the production rule inside that list. Six comments are not permission to change six things in one generation. You consolidate the list, translate one line, and render that line against the parent.
Consolidate the thread first
A round begins when the notes are in one place, not when the generator opens. Copy them out of email, chat, and pins. Keep the speaker and the time code if one was given. Then edit the list before you edit the picture.
Merge duplicates. "Looks cheap," "needs to feel expensive," and "make it more premium" are one taste note. "The hand is weird," "fingers at the end," and a pin on the reach are one defect if they describe the same hand. Split combinations. "Make it faster and more premium, and pop the product" is three notes that arrived in one sentence. A period does not make them one variable.
A time code shows where to look. It is not a second variable. If several people comment, you still need one list. Faster and a slower premium proxy often conflict. Ask which line wins the next child. You cannot render the contradiction.
Fill this card before you spend credits. The generation log will store how the file was made. This card stores what the client said and what you decided that meant.

Comment to variable
These six notes show up constantly. The client words are not the render. The variable column is the render, if you need one at all.
| Client language | Often means | Variable for this render | Hold constant | Not a revision when |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Faster | The open drags, the move is sleepy, or the file is longer than the placement | One of: a trim in the edit, a shorter duration, or a quicker move | Product, color, still identity, route, offer | They want a new hook, a new story, or a different first frame idea |
| More premium | The picture feels busier, cheaper, flatter, or less finished than the references | One agreed proxy: light, set clutter, negative space, grade, or material read | Every other proxy, plus scale, timing, and copy | They want a new world, new talent, or a different product story |
| Bigger product | The product reads small, or the label is hard to see | Subject scale in frame, by crop or by a new framing of the same product | Color, speed, offer, route, and the product identity | They want a different SKU, a new angle the still cannot support, or a hero of another object |
| Fix the hand | Fingers, wrist, or grip fail during a gesture | One repair: simpler action on the same still, or a corrected still with parent motion held | Scene, color, scale, price, and route | The still hand is already wrong and the job needs a grip you cannot support yet |
| Change the color | A named object does not match the swatch or the approved still | The color of that one object | Motion, scale, copy, and unrelated objects | They want a rebrand, a new colorway, or a different palette across the film |
| Add the price | Shoppers should see what it costs | The approved price as a finishing overlay | The picture variables of the parent | The figure is unapproved, or they want the price printed on a physical prop |
Read the last column before you write a clever prompt. Many notes that sound like generation are either finishing or a new concept. Both can be real work. Neither should be disguised as a one-variable child of the current parent.
Faster
Separate a slow file from slow motion. If the useful action starts late and a trim keeps the brief, finish in the edit and record a delivery change. If the motion is slow from the first frame, change only duration or only move speed. Doing both, or also switching route, hides which choice answered the note. "Faster" is not "cinematic," and a different hook belongs in ad testing. Write "same parent, duration only, shorter" or "same duration, quicker push, same start and end."
More premium
The word does not select light, a set, or a grade. Offer two proxies and wait for a pick: softer light on the same set, less clutter, more empty space, a restrained grade, or a calmer highlight. "All of it" is not an answer. A marble hall, a new person, or a new product story fails the parent test. If the complaint is contrast or a cheap highlight, grade the locked file before you regenerate. Words that do not survive alone include premium, luxury, elevated, sleek, and cinematic. Words that can survive name pixels: fewer objects on the table, softer shadow, less highlight on the glass.
Bigger product
Someone can see whether the product occupies more of the frame, so this is often the first render when nothing is broken and the other notes are still fog. Crop first if the label, the full product, and room for later type survive. Otherwise the variable is scale only. Hold color, timing, route, and identity. On image-to-video, either reframe the same product in a new still and hold the motion, or push closer and hold the still. The product scale guide is how you judge the frame. A new angle or a second product is a new parent, not a bigger version of this one.
Fix the hand
Treat this as a repair, not a restage. Symptom paths live in image-to-video failure fixes. Check the still. A wrong still hand means the variable is a corrected still, with parent motion, route, and duration held. An acceptable still and a bad grasp or reach means the variable is the action: "the hand rests and does not grasp." Do not repair the still and rewrite the action together. If the shot exists to show a specific grip the still cannot support, say so and stop. That is a new still, and it may be a new parent. Cut only when the bad frames are an accident and the shot goal survives.
Change the color
Name one object and one reference. Shade, cap, liquid, background, and wardrobe are separate variables. Compare the parent to the swatch using AI video color consistency before you regenerate. Grade when the whole frame is warm or dull and a limited correction can hit the object. Generate, or correct the still, when the object hue is wrong and a grade would drag skin or whites with it. Pick one path. A new palette, a new colorway, or "more on brand" without a swatch is not this note. Do not promise a print match or a guaranteed brand color. The child is a candidate, not a certificate.
Add the price
Default to type over a locked picture, using the exact figure, currency, and conditions the client supplied. That avoids asking a model to paint commercial text. If no figure arrived, send the note back. Do not invent a number or a placeholder. In-scene price on a pack, a tag, or a phone is a different risk and usually new scope, not a revision of a parent that had no price. A discount, a rating, or a call to action is another line.
Finish before you generate
Spending a generation on a problem the edit can solve is a translation error.
| Note | Finish on the locked parent when | Generate a child when |
|---|---|---|
| Faster | A trim removes a slow open and the remaining action still meets the brief | The move itself is slow from the start, and you change only duration or only speed |
| More premium | The agreed proxy is a restrained grade or a cleaner end card | The agreed proxy is light, clutter, space, or material inside the picture |
| Bigger product | A crop enlarges the product without cutting off required detail | The product is still too small in every crop the placement allows |
| Fix the hand | A brief bad frame can be cut and the shot goal survives | The hand is wrong through the action the shot needs |
| Change the color | A limited correction hits the named object without wrecking the frame | The object hue is wrong and grading would repaint unrelated surfaces |
| Add the price | The approved text can be overlaid in finishing | They require the price on a physical surface, which is separate scope |
If the finish path works, say you did not generate. Clients often assume every note needs a new file. See pricing for current attempt costs, and do not reuse an old credit figure from memory.
Name the parent and lock it
The parent is the file the client watched, with an id you will not reuse. If a log already exists, use that row. If it does not, name the file before the child. A revision without a parent is a new generation with a revision label.
Lock the prompt version or the one clause you may replace, the still version on image-to-video, the route label the screen showed for the parent, duration, aspect, and subject identity. The child works only if a reviewer can see the intended difference without a tour. On image-to-video, swapping the still is a variable, and swapping the still plus the story is a new concept. On a text-led parent, one clause changes. A full rewrite is not a tweak.
Do not overwrite the parent. The comparison is the point of the round. If you cannot find the file they saw, stop. Rebuilding it from chat memory is a new concept. Switching route while you "just fix the hand" is a second change. If that route is gone later, start a new row. Select what the screen offers that day.
One render, even inside a purchased round
A rate card may say one round is one consolidated list. Keep that meaning for the invoice. For the generator, each render changes one variable against the named parent. The list is a queue. The queue is not a single prompt.
A variable is one kind of visible difference: duration or move speed, not both; scale in frame; one color on one object; one hand repair, either the action or the still; one premium proxy that was agreed in words; or one finishing overlay, such as an approved price, which may not be a generation at all.
Two-variable files can sit in a folder. They do not count as evidence that a note was answered. If the hand improves and the color shifts, you do not know whether the hand instruction worked. Mark those files so nobody presents them as the revision of record.
What counts as a new concept
Ask four questions. If any answer is no, stop calling the request a revision.
- Would the client accept the current parent as the before?
- Can a viewer point at one difference and ignore the rest?
- Does the shot goal stay the same, including the product, the action, and the offer?
- Can you satisfy the note without changing subject, place, and story together?
A revision keeps the parent as a fair comparison. A new concept needs a new parent id and a scope conversation before anyone generates. Hiding it inside a revision collapses the fee and the timeline.
| Request | Revision if | New concept if |
|---|---|---|
| Faster | You trim, or you change only duration or only speed on the same action | The new pace needs a different hook, a new first frame, or a different story |
| More premium | One agreed proxy changes and the scene is still the scene | The set, talent, time of day, or product story must be replaced |
| Bigger product | Scale changes and the same product remains the subject | A new angle, a new SKU, or a multi-product lineup is required |
| Fix the hand | You simplify the action or replace the still and hold the rest | The performance, person, or shot purpose has to change to get a usable hand |
| Change the color | One object moves toward a supplied swatch | They want a new colorway, a rebrand, or an undefined on-brand look |
| Add the price | Approved text is overlaid on the locked picture | The price, the offer, and the scene must be redesigned together, or the figure is unknown |
"Faster, and put them on a beach at night with a discount" is a new concept. "Less clutter on this same table" can be a revision if that is the only change and it is written down. Price as type can stay in delivery. Price painted onto regenerated packaging is new scope. "Fix the hand, and try a few vibes" is a repair plus a concept request. Do the hand. Do not generate a courtesy concept so they can see it. Courtesy spends credits and sets an unscoped expectation. Charge new concepts from the rate card rules. This page only classifies them first.
Three notes, and the one change to run first
Parent: a short image-to-video of a desk lamp, filed as LUMEN-12-B, the file the client watched. The still and the route are the ones saved with that parent. The shot goal is the lamp on the desk and a reach near the end. No price was in that goal. See pricing for a live credit figure. This example does not invent one.
Friday notes:
- "Love the lamp, but can we make it more premium?"
- "Fix the hand when she reaches in."
- "Add the price so people know what it costs."
Note 1 is taste without a proxy. Do not invent a luxury restyle to look responsive. Note 2 is a defect. The still hand is acceptable, the reach is what breaks, and the reach is the point of the shot, so a trim would delete the assignment. Note 3 has no figure. Even with a figure, price is an overlay on a locked picture, and this picture is not locked.
The one change you run first is the hand. A broken reach blocks approval. Premium on a broken hand spends the round on taste the client still cannot accept. A price on that reach is an offer card with a defect in it.
The variable is action only. Same still, same route, same duration, same lamp scale, same colors, same desk. Replace the complex reach with a simpler move the still can support.
Usable instruction: "Same lamp and desk as the parent still. The hand rests near the table edge and does not grasp or pass across the shade. Lighting and framing stay with the still."
Unusable instruction: "The client hates the hand and thinks the spot looks cheap. Make it premium, fix the anatomy, add the price, faster but elegant, not like last time."
The second box argues, stacks three notes, and adds speed that nobody isolated. Render one child, LUMEN-12-C. Record it as a child of LUMEN-12-B with a single changed variable. Watch both files. Look at the hand at the start, middle, and end. If the hand is acceptable and the locks held, the note is answered. If the hand is acceptable but the shade shifted, the lock failed. Reject the child. Do not add premium on top of a broken comparison.
Reply the same day:
Parent: LUMEN-12-B
Note run: fix the hand at the reach
Variable: action only, hand rests, no grasp
Child: LUMEN-12-C
Held: still, route, duration, lamp scale, color
Not in this file: premium, price
Still queued:
1. More premium. Pick one proxy. I can change only background clutter, or only run a restrained grade on the locked picture.
2. Price. Send the exact figure and currency. I will overlay it after the picture is approved. I will not regenerate the lamp to invent type.
That is one revision render plus a queue. A balcony, a darker room, a new route, a larger lamp, and a price in the same prompt would not answer any of the three notes. A balcony is a new concept and does not inherit LUMEN-12-B.
Write the variable, then the prompt
Stakeholders write feelings first. You write the variable first. The prompt describes the locked picture plus that one change. If the line does not fit on the card, the prompt is not ready.
Parent: [id]
Change: [one variable]
Lock: [still or prompt version, route, duration, aspect, identity]
Prompt: [the picture as it should look now]
Do not add: [the queued notes]
The tool may only receive the picture description. Keep the headings on the card. Mark the replaced clause as a new prompt version. Any word change is a new version. If you repaired the still, that still is the variable and the motion wording stays, unless the action was the variable. One of those can be true.
Leave the meeting out. "The client is unhappy," "final this time," and "not like last time" do not select pixels. If someone already wrote an argument prompt, translate it again. Select the parent route on screen unless route is the declared variable.
Send a reply that can be answered
A silent upload invites a new pile of notes that ignore what you held constant. Send the parent id, the child id, the note in their words and in your variable words, the lock, what you refused to mix in, and the queue with the one question you need. "Does this answer the hand?" is a decision. "What do you think?" invites a fresh essay.
If the child fails the lock, reject it in visible terms. "The shade shifted greener than the parent" can be revised from. "Looks off" cannot. Five children are not one revision. A spare of the same variable is a rerun, and the log should show the credits the screen displayed. Send the queue with the file so later comments attach to the remaining lines, not to a render that already happened.
The order when notes conflict
Use the same sequence every time so priority is not relitigated in the prompt box.
- Defects that make the clip unusable for the shot goal, such as a broken hand, a warped product, or a person who does not stay the same person.
- Product truth the brief already required, such as scale or the color of a named object, when the parent is visibly wrong.
- Taste, only after a proxy is written down.
- Finishing that stays on a locked picture, such as an approved price overlay.
- New concepts, which leave the round and wait for a scope decision.
Two defects still means two runs. Do not blend hand and color because both feel urgent. A child can become the next parent only after you name it. Faster versus a premium proxy that needs more time is a contradiction. Ask which variable the next render serves. Do not average them.
Three mistakes that waste the round
Regenerating everything
A vague note plus a deadline is the usual trigger. You replace the still, rewrite the prompt, switch the route, change the duration, and move the product, then present one file as the revision. The file can be attractive and still fail. The client cannot see the change they asked for. They can only accept or reject a different clip.
Several causes moved, so you cannot repeat the result or explain it. Return to the parent and translate one note. Label an already generated pile as uncontrolled. A full regeneration is allowed only as a named new concept, with the old parent kept.
Arguing in the prompt
Argument prompts sound like the email, only louder. They stack "not cheap," "not the last one," "make it luxury," "fix the ugly hand," and "the client is frustrated." None of those phrases is a variable. A negative pile that restates the meeting does not say which pixels should differ from the parent.
Delete the history and write the picture. "Hand rests, no grasp, same still" is the decision. The prompt only needs the result. A defensive paragraph in the client reply has the same problem. State what you changed, what you held, and what you need. Save the symptom path for the failure-fixes guide when you are choosing the repair, not for a debate in the prompt field.
Silent scope growth
Silent scope growth is the extra change you did not put on the card. You opened the tool to fix the hand, then typed a larger lamp, a greener shade, a faster push, and a price, because each one was "small." The child now answers no single note. If they like the color and hate the hand, you cannot keep the color without the hand. If they like the hand and the price is wrong, you have baked an unapproved figure into pixels you do not control.
The same growth happens when you regenerate a price, a trim, or a grade the edit could have handled. Put the almost-added items in the reply as not done. Overwriting the parent, sending several premium takes as one round, and changing route plus still plus prompt after a failure are the same mistake. The card and the reply have to match. If the fee sold a list, silent extras mean you still owe that list.
Credits, rights, and the checklist
Every child you generate consumes credits. Finishing on a locked file may not. See pricing. Do not copy a figure from another month into an estimate. The screen that day is the record, and it belongs in the generation log.
A paid plan does not guarantee commercial rights for the client, the talent, the product, the music, or the file. Rights depend on the current terms and the agreement. Do not say a subscription cleared usage or editing rights. The client can accept the hand repair and still be unable to publish, because the offer or the product truth is unfinished. Mark the note answered without calling the file a delivery.
Before you generate, the list is merged, contradictions are written down, and the parent is the file they watched. The lock names still or prompt version, route label, duration, aspect, and identity. The chosen note is one variable. Premium has a proxy or stays queued. Color names one object. The price is exact client text. The hand repair is action or still, not both. New concepts are labeled and are not generated as a courtesy.
Afterward, pass the child only if the variable moved and the locks held. Send the reply. Stop. The next note is a new decision.
The next file
Make the child in Cliprise only after the translation exists. Text-led parents stay on the AI video generator. Still-led parents stay on the image-to-video AI generator.
See pricing before you commit the queue to a stack of children. Record the run in the generation log. Send hand and motion failures to failure fixes, scale questions to the product scale guide, and color matches to color consistency. A list of hooks is the ad creative testing workflow. What the fee included is the rate card.
Paste the latest thread. Merge it. Name the parent. Run the one line you can defend side by side. Leave "make it more premium" queued until it has a proxy. One consolidated note. One changed variable. One named parent.
